What is the rA on the screen display?

I could not find this in the HTC manual but my phone is displaying a rA on the top of the screen reflecting the type of signal. What does it mean.
On another note, while I was roaming yesterday my phone would not ring but was going to voicemail. I could make calls out but not receive. Later when I was back home everything was fine. Any ideas on why?
Thanks.

rA is probably for rev A, an abbreviation of "revision A" of EV-DO. Not sure about the no incoming calls....what carrier are you on? Have you tried the *228 OTA programming? Sometimes that helps my phone when it is acting weird during roaming.

My carrier is Altell. Is *228 an update for any carrier or just verizon?

Re: What is the rA on the screen display?

The *228 might work on Altell now too considering the merger.

yes, it does work.
always has.
**Alltel has always been running off of verizon towers since it has started,
just not running verizon software on the alltel servers.
