Group Texting

I am new to texting. Is there a place i could set up a group of people and text to them at the same time? I went into sms messaging and can add 1 at a time and send a text but i would like to send to a group.

All I do is just go to menu when i'm in the text message and click add recipiant and just add multiple contacts with no problem.

Re: Group Texting

Thanks for the quick response. Is there a way i can check one contact and send to 10 at once instead of adding one at a time?

Not with the standard texting program that comes on the rom. You can try Icontacts but I'm not sure. What rom are you using by the way? (6.1 stock, 6.1 custom, 6.5???)

Re: Group Texting

I use PowerSMS to send group texts. http://www.trinketsoftware.com/PowerSMS/

It's $10, but I think it's well worth the money. You can set up multiple groups, so sending a group text is always a one or two tap affair. You can also schedule sending a text message at a certain time and/or day, and it allows you to export and backup your messages.

Re: Group Texting

Group sms does not save the group so really what is the benefit its basically the same as manually adding the name every time

It does save the group, the trick is that you gotta open a new empty text message screen, and in the (To Section right click and then scroll down to Add Group, and that will open up GroupSMS, its a pretty good program used it plenty of times.
