Vogue already on Cricket. have some questions

Ok, a girlfriend of mine had her Sprint Touch activated on Cricket. The tards at the cricket store couldn't get anything to work besides text messaging and talk. My question is can i just unlock her phone and flash a new rom with the cricket customization cab and get her internet to work? I have a touch pro so the vogue is new to me. Thanks for the help..

really depends, does your GF's plan include a data plan? Im making an assumption here the Vogue is new to her (used by someone else first) and many carriers (mine for instance Sprint) needed to setup a separate data plan when I switched to the Touch from a clam shell style phone (has since reverted to an all in one plan that is cheaper and easier LOL)
If her plan does include data and the "tards" as you call them cant get it to work, yeah, unlock and slap a custom ROM on there should push through easy enough

Question is, are you using a Vogue on cricket as well and can you access internet, compare your plan to hers and make changes to hers as needed

So, the original question remains, is there a data plan on her cricket account?
if not there is obviously the issue...

yea, "supposedly" it has a data plan. it's still trying to connect to sprints network. it says #777 when trying to connect to data

Yeah, youll never connect to Sprint from a Cricket phone

I did some research, not sure if youve read and tried this but found the complete (and I mean COMPLETE) how-to to move a HTC Vogue over onto the Cricket network, seems very complete so you may have to join the site for the files but the walkthrough is readable to start with

Otherwise, I would suggest finding a Generic 6.5 ROM on here as you might be able to get things set with the generic builds or install the Altell or Cricket carrier cabs if you can find them

I went ahead and unlocked it and flashed it with OMJ's 3.03, 3.09, M2D WM6.1 Custom Touch ROMs w/ User Customization
and installed the cricket cab. Phone and text work but no data. The cab file didn't really seem to change anything. She is happier with the touchflo interface though. Thanks for the link, i will check that out. It's still tries to dial #777 for sprint data so there must be configuring to do there. Thanks.

i just realized that i didn't skip the customization on the rom when it was settting up.. Maybe that's why it's still trying to dial sprint.. I thought the cricket cab might over write all that, but apparently not.

LOL Appreciate the thanks from you..

Didnt realize it was already customed and that it was a Sprint ROM - that would explain the issues with the customizations running setting up Sprint access LOL

Thought the thread I gave you would have literally everything needed - good luck and have fun
