Uninstalling Programs/Applications

I notice that many programs and applications do not come with any uninstall file. How does one remove a program or application that they no longer want, or is not working properly.

Windows itself has a Control Panel/Add-Remove but what does a PPC have to remove programs/apps?.

Where should the program or app be installed...device or card?
Will a cab file when executed know where it needs to be put?

I am hesitant to install programs without knowing how to successfully and safely remove them.

Thanks. This PPC is very new to me. Not like a desktop for sure.

Click start, click settings, click system tab, scroll down click on remove programs, high light program click remove.

Re: Uninstalling Programs/Applications

Ok, thanks. I found it shortly after posting. Also , I discovered that Active Sync also has a remove program function.

I don't think it matters where most programs are installed, but from what I understand, if it is a CAB file, it knows.

So much to learn. I'm glad you guys (and gals) are here to help us.

Re: Uninstalling Programs/Applications

That may not remove everything. You may have to manually remove some files.

Often removing programs the default way still leaves registries etc as someone has mentioned. i used memmaid to clean it up but this still can leave traces as well. personally i like to backup using SPB and then you can restore the file if the program doesnt work out, much cleaner.

You can use this method or you can use a File Explorer program like Total Commander to locate the file, then when you have the file hold down on it w/stylus for 2 seconds then in drop down window hit delete.
