Re: accidental radio downgrade

flash a new radio. flash your carriers stock rom then flash the custom rom over it.

Any carriers stock ROM will overwrite the radio currently installed with the one included on the carriers ROM release. Custom ROMs are a little different. A stock ROM has both a radio and a ROM in it's process of installation. A custom ROM only installs the ROM itself and leaves the radio version untouched.
There is/was a way to install just the radio itself...I tried looking for it but couldn't find it right away, maybe someone can jump in with a link. Search around and you may find it. I remember someone releasing it so that it only updated the radio, left the ROM alone...though I believe the outcome is similar to a hard reset (all data lost), but prevents you from having to reflash the custom ROM. If you want to do it the long way, what you would want to do is flash with the official carrier ROM that includes the radio version you want...don't let customs run...then flash with the custom ROM of your choice...you will then be using the custom ROM with the selected radio version.
