Dropped Phone need help

Hi

So my Mom just called me and her Touch she has fell and now she has a white screen with a black "feather" on it. I guess the phone didnt fall far, from like a hutch on a computer desk to the desk top. Playing her music too loud because the vibration on the shelf vibrated it off.

She has taken the battery out and put it back in and restarted it with the same thing showing. The "feather" as she calls it is black on the white screen and is about a finger nail width in on the left side. She is getting no responses from the phone however it did ring with an incoming call she wasn't able to answer.

Any help with figureing out the phone would be appreciated. She says fubar isn't an option lol.

Thank you very much

Re: Dropped Phone need help

LOL, I have no clue what "fubar" means...
Either I'm having a newb moment or I'm gettin behind the times..

Anyway,
What carrier is she with?

If she is on Sprint she can sign up for the "Total Equipment Protection plan" online.
She can then take it to the nearest Sprint repair store and have it fixed or replaced.

Re: Dropped Phone need help

Total Equipment Protection plan has changed and the deductibles have gone up. It will take effect 4/19/09 under the name "Equipment Replacement Program". Rates are still the same just the deductibles are different. I think the Touch falls under the Tier 2 with a deductible of $100 so you should replace her phone before April 19th. If you do it before then the cost will be $50 if you have the Total Equipment Protection plan already.

Re: Dropped Phone need help

Under Sprint TEP general (in store replacements) there is no deductable or ex cost aside from the rate of the add-on but if you are made to resort to the insurance with TEP (Asurion) then that where the $$$ comes into play...

Honestly I never could figure out what Sprint TEP didn't cover that made Asurion nessasary?

Re: Dropped Phone need help

lol fubar means seriously broken. I am probably spelling it wrong but thats what it means.

She is on a pay as you go with Rogers here in Canada so i don't think she has extended warrenty replacement. Thats kind of why she is panicing.

Re: Dropped Phone need help

Then it's not necessarily fubar, It's probably a cracked display. FYI- F***ed Up Beyond All Repair

Re: Dropped Phone need help

****ed up beyond recognition = fubar, theres the true meaning.

TMZ, i am not to sure how to tell if its a GSM or a CDMA phone. is it easy to replace the screen in the Touch?

Thank you everyone for you responses. saddly we don't have Sprint in Canada, at least not where i am.
