"Flashing Rectangles" on screen??

I just got my XV-6900 last night as a replacement for my dead i-760. (fyi, i was told that they're being recalled).

I installed the usual slate of apps that I like (opera mini, skyfire, sktools and live search). I'm running the "stock" ROM b/c I want to play with it before I decide to start REALLY screwing with it.

I did some performance tweeks based on this thread:
http://mobilitytoday.com/forum/showthread.php?p=81833#post81833

I only performed items 4-8 since I don't have a key for SKTools yet.

Now when I start the phone, bring up the cube or close/open some apps I get a couple of flashing rectangles in the middle of the screen.

I've gone back and restored the defaults and done a soft reset but I still get the flashing rectangles.

Thoughts/suggestions??

TIA

Re: "Flashing Rectangles" on screen??

if you by chance downloaded advanced config tool and enabled windows animation that would cause this... does this effect your device in any way?

Re: "Flashing Rectangles" on screen??

like I said, I installed SKTools but I can't say if I enabled windows animation. I'll look.

Since I didn't have too much time into setting the phone up I went ahead and hard reset it.

Re: "Flashing Rectangles" on screen??

that's it! I must have accidentally (or sktools did it) switched that on. I turned it on then soft reset and it was doing it. I turned it off, soft reset and it stopped.

Sweet, now I can keep the speed tweeks w/o the glitches.

Re: "Flashing Rectangles" on screen??

In SKTools in the Tune Up! Utility, on the System Tweaks Tab.

"Animate Window" - Yes - causes the flashing rectangles

"Animate menu" - Yes - Seems to screw up the start menu

the default values for both those items is, No

Re: "Flashing Rectangles" on screen??

OK so the flashing rectangles were definitely caused by "animating windows" regardless of what program caused it now if people have this same problem in the future and they do a search...any ways advanced config. does the same exact thing for future reference
