USB device not recognized error when plugging in touch to pc

I've been trying to sync my touch with my pc lately, but for some reason it has recently decided to give me a "USB device not recognized" error that I can't figure out.

It says I don't have a driver installed to plug in the phone - but there does not seem to be a touch specific USB driver available.

Any ideas?

Yeah, I had the same thing happen to me when I tried tethering. I tried unistalling everything and starting over, but nothing worked. I ended up having to re-format the computer. I know that doesn't help much, but maybe you could do a driver roll back or something along the lines of a PC recovery.

Don't feel bad. It took me a year before I was able to sync my 700WX to my Vista laptop. Ended up that a custom ROM flash did the trick for me

Re: USB device not recognized error when plugging in touch to pc

You most likely have a problem with the RNDIS Fix. You need to uninstall activesync completely and re-install the newest version. Pay attention and make sure that at some point during the installation that it says something about RNDIS HotFix. This should solve your problem.

The driver is not phone specific, it is generic windows mobile device and it is installed on your system via activesync. The RNDIS HotFix is a microsoft utility that fixes an issue with USB communications protocol.
