Device Memory Disappears on xv6900

I've cooked a number of roms using the ppckitchen without any problems, but in the last couple of weeks I've had my device's memory go from 80+mb down to 0.0 in seconds (I literally watched it slip away), and I end up having to hard reset and run my backup file from the morning (thank you SpbBackup!!). It's happened three times with two different roms, and I can't figure out what's going on. Before it happens I've not installed any new program. I've done a search and couldn't find any reference to memory drain, leak, or otherwise. Both roms had build 19209 and radio 3.42.30. I don't know where to begin looking or what I should look for. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a program memory leak. What programs/rom are you using? And does a soft reset fix it?

soft reset doesn't fix it. It's a rom I built in the ppcgeeks kitchen. Since it happens so infrequently, could it be related to a program I'm throwing in the rom? Would it have to be run, or just present in the rom, do you think?

Keep an eye on the programs you run and that happens. It could be an incompatible component or a program when you run it...Might post your selections.txt in the kitchen thread to see if anyone can help ya spot it.

Re: Device Memory Disappears on xv6900

Are you using Windows media player to play large quantities of MP3's? I have about 200 cd's loaded on my sd card and if I use media player to play any of them it uses up 96% of my memory as soon as I select anything from the library. I'm now using audio manager instead and it doesn't use up the memory like media player did.

check out the dotfred task manager program in the kitchen, and it will let you see what is using up the RAM
