GPStoday stopping... (found solution!)

finally got GPS working.. and starting today.. GPStoday just stops randomly... after about 15 30 seconds... (i dont lose GPS, but my today icon goes from green (with # of sats) to red... like i turned it off myself... )
i tried running GPStoday, and i then opened google maps and live search.. both of those two are still up and running, GPS working just fine... but GPStoday is closes on me...
i made no changes to the reg, or added any program (i removed poutlook.ink, and one other link.. but i put them back and restarted...
i have soft reset about 6 times...
still keeps conking off

anything i can check?
i have dotfred task manager... i tried looking in there.. but got a little confused...

sorry for all the questions lately...
thanks for all the help and tips!

pj

Re: GPStoday stopping...

When you start GPSToday, slide the little satellite box across the screen until it passes the boxes on the other side, and this will keep the application working. When you want to disable the application, do the same thing.

Re: GPStoday stopping...

Do you have it setup as auto? Because that sounds like normal behavior, I have mine set like that, it connects every so often based on my usage. Kind of in a "deterministic" way.

Re: GPStoday stopping...

i have been using GPStoday for a while... this 'problem' just started...
i have autofix turned to OFF... i manually initiate the GPS... it locks... 15 seconds later, its red, and no connection... hmmm...
i open google maps... get a lock.. and it stays... for as long as i like.. good...
goto live search, enable gps.. locks, until i tell it not to...
go back to GPStoday.. enable GPS... good.. for 20 secons.. then KONKS OUT...
this just started happening... (most likely some reg setting in DH's ROM)

Re: GPStoday stopping...

i figured it out!
cant believe someone else didnt tell me!!! you have to slide it on! (if you double tap it on, it will only stay till it gets a lock, then turn off!!!)
i always used to slide it on.. then started tapping,)
so, for all you with GPStoday, having issues with it turning off on you...
make sure you SLIDE it to the right, (do not double tap it)
i thought they both did the same thing.. not so!

hope this helps!

If you ask for advise why not try it when you get it.

Re: GPStoday stopping... (found solution!)

got it!
maybe, what the preson should have said was, "MAKE SURE YOU DONT DOUBLE TAP IT! that will only lock temporailly".. esp if i am having this problem!!!
i posted back to help others who may run into this same problem...
mr schettj, did you know about the double tap, versus slide?
