Phone Getting Hot While Using GPS

I've got a Sprint HTC Touch and I notice that it gets hot when GPS is in use. It's never gotten this hot before while playing movies. I'm not really worried about it, just curious as to exactly why. It doesn't get melting hot, but it does get uncomfortably warm.

Re: Phone Getting Hot While Using GPS

It'll happen, keep it on a charger while you're using GPS, so you don't have a dead battery when you get there.

Re: Phone Getting Hot While Using GPS

I also have the same problem and I cant believe that this is normal. On my side I stopped usng the GPS until I'll find some serious answer about this problem. I fear that I'll physiclly dammage the battery or the phone if I use it too much.

Did someone found some applications that are less demanding on the GPS? I noticed that google map was ver hard on the battery while GPS viewer alone was not making it become hot (I dont know if this si related to the Power Save checkbox)
