Re: cube's face contact, changed to sms instead of calling
That does make it a little easier, but is there a way to make it so that just the first press sets up the sms to them?

Re: cube's face contact, changed to sms instead of calling
I found this thread about making a shortcut button on the today screen, which could work as well, but I want it on the cube if possible. Couldn't I change a button on the cube the same way as this?

Re: cube's face contact, changed to sms instead of calling
For anyone who is interested. I've kind of found a solution, that combined info from a couple different threads.
First, I didn't get the face contact part to send the text message, but I set up on the 6-side app, to change the comm manager, to send a text to my wife. I downloaded the Sprint cube config tool, then went to the comm manager button, changed the name to "Text Wife". Then I changed the path to \windows\tmail.exe , then I changed the parameters to -service "SMS" -to "phone number". (info found here) http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=31378 (cube info found here) http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...+MODIFICATIONS So, overall, this is a very quick and easy way to send a text to someone that you text often. Don't even have to unlock the phone. Just slide up to open the cube, and press the button for texting the specific person. Thank you MusicMan247, thisguyinOC, rstoyguy, and Nosey |

Re: cube's face contact, changed to sms instead of calling
blindracer.. I thought about the same idea, but using the iphone today screen I am able to create more buttons then what the cube would let me, and I can have up to 120 buttons, 15 per screen, 8 screens with the config I set up.. each screen has 3 rows of 5 buttons... busy right now but will try to take a screen shot and post it, and look to see which iphone screen I actually used, don't recall it either...

Re: cube's face contact, changed to sms instead of calling
That's a good idea in the future. I just got this phone 2 weeks ago, and this is the first ppc I've ever owned, so once I accumulate programs, I might take that route as well.
The thing I like about this is that with using S2U2, I can still use the cube, all I have to do to text my wife now is turn on the screen, slide up the cube, and press the button. Before it was like a 6-7 step process. |
