Quick help question: Is this normal behaviour for your Vogue/Touch?

When you call up the cube from the Today screen, and then swipe back down to get rid of it, is it normal for the Today screen (or some elements on it) to briefly flash/flicker/blink/refresh for half a second before stablilizing again and staying still?

yep. that is normal.

Far as i know it forces the today screen to refresh. thats why some may flicker.

Thanks! Figured as much but just wanted to verify, as I hadn't taken particular note of it before installing a custom cube, and wanted to be sure it wasn't a result of that...
