Re: TomTom

You have you flash a GPS enabled rom, or buy a Bluetooth GPS module, and then just install TOMTOM 6 and use it. With the GPS rom you will first need to "prime" the gps with GPStoday to get sattelite locks and then you can start TOMTOM and use it. With the Bluetooth module, you dont have to "prime" it first.

Re: TomTom

My question is, is there a way to change (in a sys file or reg file) the path where the program looks for maps etc. I had it installed on my SD card, but all the files were all over the place. I want to put them all in a folder on my card called TomTom 6, so is there a way?

Thanks!

Re: TomTom

The safest route is to install TT6 in your root folder on your Storage card, i.e.

Storage Card\2577
Storage Card\Guam
Storage Card\Voices

etc

the start, ttnavigator files, etc are in the root portion of the storage card too

Its not clean but it works -- I have had MIO, Tom Tom and Garmin all installed at the same time -- but I prefer Garmin XT because it has the new 2008 maps. Hopefully the IGO8 North Amer maps will come out soon, so I can test that one too

I am constantly testing the GPS software -- but I never go anywhere.

Re: TomTom

Exactly. That's what i have now. But I don't want all those random files all over the place in the storage card, ya know? Is there a way I can just change the path that TomTom used to look for the main files to a folder in the storage card?

Thanks

It has to be in the root. Its the only way it will work unfortunately.

Absolutely. Same here. I am trying to find out if I can fix that, and pare down the files that are necessary for ppc and those that are not. Also, make sure you set the file mapsettings.cfg to NOT read only so that it will remember favorites, destinations, home etc.
