Re: Is skype a NO go on windows 6.1?

Using an older version of Skype I can get it to work. However I can only use the speakerphone for voice calls. I dont think it has the ability to work with bluetooth headsets.

Call quality is bad. The person on the other end of the call can hear me ok, but I get constant cracks and pops in the audio.

I have read that using a wifi connection makes skype work alot better, however my HTC Touch doesnt support wifi, so I am stuck using the sprint data connection.

Re: Is skype a NO go on windows 6.1?

Skype and Fring are kind of a disappointment for me. I was hoping that there would be more support PPC. Makes me wonder if there is some colution with the phone companies.

I don't use all minutes so it's no big deal but international calling would be nice.

Same question... which version worked for you? I'd like to be able to call international using Skype.

Thanks!

Re: Is skype a NO go on windows 6.1?

can you really use skype anyway? i thought verizon really disliked that and would terminate/suspend your service for doing so? i imagine other carriers dislike it as well...

Re: Is skype a NO go on windows 6.1?

I personally prefer Rebtel. It's not a voip service like skype, but better rates on pay calls than skype, free to lots of countries, and I get a permanent number to save to my contacts.

And yes I do have the latest skype running on dharvey's almost OEM WM6.1 ROM.

Has anybody tried using it on EVDO Rev-A? If so, are you still getting pops and cracks?
