scammer on craigslist

hey guys,

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/697748095.html

why do people like to profit off of someone elses hard work? i really hope no one has gone to this guy yet and i hope craigslist deletes his post.

to the guy whos making this "deal," as im sure you frequent ppcgeeks, please delete your listing. have some morals. thanks.

[i posted this in the general forum too, but later realized that the audience might care more in the sub-forum]

edit: please click on "prohibited" or "spam" in the listing. thanks!

Thumbs down Re: scammer on craigslist

That's the type of idiot that cause problems for those of us that try to educate people on how to do it themselves and grow the user population. I know that there are some people out there that are intimidated by flashing, but still $75? That's just highway robbery, unless of course he buys you a new phone if he bricks your old one.

Re: scammer on craigslist

He forgot the part about voiding your warranty. That's the best selling point of all!

I shouldn't rag though i've been guilty of accepting a plate lunch from a friend while I flashed his phone during a lunch break.

Re: scammer on craigslist

Personally I don't see harm in someone offering to do the work for someone else that might be uncomfortable with it.

I did my friends phone and he places "value" of my time to do it.

I spent a good hour doing it and my time is worth at least that. Especially if they have questions or problems.

It would be nice if they were up front about where they got it and still give folks credit for the work.

Accepting a friends lunch isnt bad I mean its a one time thing. Now, charging people $75 for free information..thats bad. But then again you see this happen a lot. I almost fell victim to this from the guy who sold me my Mogul. He told me of how the stock rom sucks and how he can upgrade me for $50 + some other bs. I told em no thanks and when I got home did some searching and came across this forum and a few others. IMO It's much better to learn how to do it because when **** breaks..you have a chance of fixing it yourself instead of going back to the guy and getting ripped off once more.

just my 2 cents

Re: scammer on craigslist

isn't it illegal to charge people for a rom? isn't it along the same lines as selling mods for games?
