Unable to Add New Contacts?

Hey all
I upgraded my rom a while back to the gps and all the bells and whistles.. but for some reason when i go to add a contact and go through all of the steps and save it.. it wont save.. and also when i goto options and try and change the area code it doesn't save either.. any ideas?
