Question Simple question. Telus -> Bell/Aliant

Hey, I have an HTC Touch which was sold to me saying it was unlocked... that was not the case.

Anyway I've Come across the code and am trying to get it connected to the Aliant(Bell) Network. But it is still referencing all the telus network Information. How can I modify this? I have changed all of my MSID etc to be setup as it would per a new aliant phone, but its looking for the wrong network I am guessing.

Is there a away around this without flashing a new rom? or is that the only answer?

If I do that then I will be tossing my year warrenty out the window.

Please get back to me soon as I'm trying to get it connected asap

Thanks in advance
Kyle

Do I need to flash in order to use it on the Aliant/Bell Network?

Larger brains than mine will comment on this but the problem is that your ESN would need to be changed for it to function on Bell's network. Have you called Bell to ask them?

No, its a very touchy situation. Alian/bell said they would not use any phone on thieir network that is not bought from them. I have a friend who works there and hes hooking me up but he doesnt know alot about swapping carriers.

I thought I needed to change the ESN, but it wont allow me to from the ESPN(sp) Menu

Re: Simple question. Telus -> Bell/Aliant

Even if you could change the esn, and I'm not promoting that practice since it is illegal, you would need a good esn from a Bell Touch. If you used just any esn,I don't think your account could be provisioned properly for data access.
