anyone notice rattle in their earpiece?

just asking because i received a replacement touch due to the first one having microsd issues. i noticed that on the current touch, the earpiece creates a little bit of a kazoo hum when people are talking to me through the earpiece.
the funny thing is, i vaguely remember my first touch doing the same thing, but i dont notice it anymore...
has anyone else experienced this? or should i consider returning my second one?

Re: anyone notice rattle in their earpiece?

hmm, my volume button and power button is rock solid. i dont know if its just me learning to live with the sound or if its getting better. if it doesnt fix itself in a week, i'm gonna head over to my local sprint and have it exchanged for a new one. it is definately the earpiece speaker. i wonder if it just needs to be broken in

ps: how long have you had yours for?

Re: anyone notice rattle in their earpiece?

If I gently shake my phone it makes a rattle sound.. not like a broken piece floating about but more of loose sliding piece sound :/ I don't think its the volume key.

My ear piece sounds fine though..

i've had mine since it released to the market. i have to correct my statement, the rattling is not in the volume slider, but around that area. i've never really checked too much into it but i know it comes from the top portion of the phone. i should have gotten mine exchanged but i guess i just settled.

Cool Re: anyone notice rattle in their earpiece?

Aleki,

I'm not sure if this is the same issue you're having but my earpiece sounded terrible. Almost like a blown speaker. There was a buzz and reverb that was just awful during the ringing and no matter how low I turned the volume it was still there. I took it into Sprint store and for the first time I had a great experience. Told the guy my problem and dialed my voicemail so he could hear it. He confirmed it but said he had to send it back to the techs. 30 min later I was called to the counter and he said, "well looks like we ordered you a replacement!" No fighting at all. Couldn't believe it. This was Monday afternoon. Today I received a pleasant phone call from the Sprint store saying it had arrived. Stopped in and they swapped it out. Pretty painless. I didn't have to pay anything either. So if its a problem, it will be replaced. Hope this helps.

Re: anyone notice rattle in their earpiece?

russ,
it pretty much sounds like what you describe. kinda like a loose or blown speaker.
one question about your replacement though. do you know if they gave you a refurb? you should be able to check by dialing ##778# (dont hit call), tap view, and somehwere down the bottom it will say "refurbishment status"

i want to know if i go in while i'm on my 30 day, if they will give me a refurb or a new one?

I really hope this problem goes away. this replacement seems to have been built much better than my last one. none of the buttons click or anything when i shake the handset.
