Car Charger - Interesting

I posted a thread about using my old AC charger from my Blackberry 8703 for my new HTC Touch. This sort of goes along with that.

I just got the new car charger from Sprint for my Touch. I was right in my assumption that the USB port connections (with some exceptions!) for chargering on these PDAs, whether they be BB, Windows, etc)...are pretty much standard. I see a note that describes the product I bought on Sprint's invoice. It says...

"MINI USB VPA-RIM 7250/7520/7100I/PPC6700"

So there ya go....they give you the same car charger if you're buying one for a Blackberry 7250 or a HTC Touch, etc.

I can one-up that... I use the same charger that I got for my Zen Micro mp3 player to charge the Touch, my Oakley Thump 2 sunglasses, a friend's RAZR, and a Motorola H700 BT piece. Mini USB ftw.

um don't all usb devices use the 5 volts that the computer puts out? that would only make sense that they all work with each other. i mean if you phone is being charged by the usb port it doesn't care what the device is its gonna be the same voltage.

don't assume every charger with usb will work on any phone with that port, you can't use a motorola charger on an htc devices and vice versa, the razor charger wont work on the touch an likewise

My Motorola Portable charger P790 works great with my Vogue. So I would not be so bold to say that motorola chargers do not work with HTC devices.

BTW , charger wise the p790 is a nice thing to keep one from being stuck without a phone. I have only used it to charge my phone fully once but it worked, and was still able to charge my bluetooth headset.

i said not all, and it wasn't a bold statement its a TRUE statement, you aren't using an included charger, you let me know when you take a razor specific charger and charge a touch with it, or vice versa, i don't say anything that i haven't already tried
