Touch turns itself on

I don't know what is causing this but, when I push the standby button on the top the screen goes black (as it should) but then comes back on by itself. The time between off and on varies by a few seconds to a minute or so and doesn't happen all the time but enough to annoy me.

Any help?

Is this occurring when the device is connected to your computer? If so, you will need to disable the option to allow data connections when the device is connected (through Activesync).

If this problem is happening when your device is not connected to your computer, you may want to see if your signal is changing from 1x to EV. If you live on a fringe area, you may encounter that issue. You may also wanna see if you have push email enabled or a constant internet connection, as that may also be the culprit.
