Phone randomly froze, won't hard reset

So,
my phone froze up today, with both green/red talk/end lights coming on, and nothing else. I had just done a soft reset, as it was acting weird.
I've tried doing a hard reset (hold down talk/end while pushing stylus in), but it does nothing, the second I put the stylus in, both the red and green lights come on again. The lights stay on until I pull the battery for a few minutes, at which point they stay off until I attempt a hard reset. I'm running an older Android ROM which I've had on for about 6 months and haven't done any software updates or changes in a few weeks at all.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Might be a bad battery.
Have you tried letting it charge a few hours and then see if it boots?
Then you can clear storage/hard reset if you need to.

Did it get wet or something?
Maybe something inside just crapped out.
Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

no, it was working fine..
this has happened before (not for a few months), but until now, everytime i do a soft reset while it's plugged in, it fixes the problem.
i'm trying a full charge now..

Re: Phone randomly froze, won't hard reset

Weirdness... this sounds exactly like the issue my buddy NuAngel was having on the HTC Vogue he gave me! Part of his "Accidental" fix was to keep the battery out for a few weeks (he got another Vogue during that time). He was then finally able to boot Android, but then it would start acting like crap again.

He was duel booting WM 6.5 and Android (I think he was booting Android off the SD card??). After he was finally able to get to the ROM flashing screen he flashed the ROM with a stock Sprint ROM and the phone was finally recovered for use.... but all the data was lost.

I'll try and point this thread out to him and see if he can provide additional input.
