Changing Links on HTC Home Sprint

Does anyone know how to change the links on the HTC Home Sprint Today plugin? I would like to change the headphones to link to Windows Media Player rather than Sprint Music Store. Thanks in advance for any help.

ahh, Doh!, good catch Klurf. If it's anything like the icons on the Mogul's home plugin, then it's reg entries. Let me take a look and see. I had planned to change mine too.

Arrow Read through this thread...

If you read through this thread, it details the steps necessary to make the changes to the .xml files that control these icon settings.

Ahh yes, good find Fonman.

I see the setting in these 2 file. One for landscape and portrait.

Windows\ql_skin_l.xml
Windows\ql_skin_p.xml

I'm going to try editing them and see what I can do.

Okay, that worked, but the files are set to read only and I had to install Total Commander to edit the files. Now the read only is gone and I can copy over them all I want through the usb cable.

I was looking for the same thing and it seems many others are too.
It would be great if you or someone can write a cab program for this similiar to emunutz HTC Home customizer cab and call it PolenHomePluginTab so not to confuse it with HomePluginWM6.
I would but I don't know the first thing about writing programs

We were just modifying the text in these files with a text editor making small changes, but if you want to actually change the icons, then you have to create graphic and save them as bmps. Then you would have to edit those files I mentioned above to use the new pictures. I think the icons are fine, I just wanted to change what they launch, which is just a simple text edit with the free program Total Commander.

You mentioned Tabs. We are talking about the "HTC Home Sprint" not "HTC Home". The "HTC Home Sprint" is the Today plugin with the 5 icons.

Yo Polen.

I have a broken link on my HTC Sprint Home.

The little maginfying glass that is default to Live Search doesn't work. I click it and get an error message. the program works though if i go through my program list. any ideas?

and can you give the path for the registry edit to change the functions of the HTC Sprint Home buttons....

thanks!!!
