COMMON BUG FIXES
Quote:

Not everyone has these problems. They seem to be random. Here are the fixes:

* If you are having trouble with your SD Card disappearing or not working right, disable power management for your SD Card. Use Advanced Config, go to Power Management>SD Memory Power Management>Disable. ~CDODGE

* If you are having trouble installing programs, make sure you use Advanced Config to disable the security certificates warning. ~Nagrom

* If Google Maps isn't working for you, you need to do this simple regedit. Go to HKLM / Software / Google / GoogleMaps / supports_extended_wifi. Change the Data Value from 1 to 0. ~jscurek
  • Make sure you have already flashed the latest stock ROM & Radio for your device.
  • Make sure you have unlocked your device.
  • Do not backup anything from previous ROM versions other than contacts, appointments, emails and text messages.
  • If you are using Vx.x you will need to download the Weather Fixes file below (Thanks to jdume and Cyberde). Install the files in it and you will be able to edit your city and get your weather on the homescreen.
  • Please read Codybear's FAQ here (It is for NFSFAN's ROM but a lot applies to ANY ROM).

Nice to see that there are more chefs around! If you need a Verizon tester at some point, I'll be happy to help. :)

Heh, ya. I figured there didn't seem to be many releasing latest builds to the Vogue so I thought I would step it.

I hope to have a Verizon or generic ROM up by the end of the week.

I also plan on having a ROM with features (one that is customized how I like it, and hopefully others) in addition to having the base ROM (one that is stripped bare for people make things the way they want.)

Re: [ROM][Updated 8/31/09]NagROM V0.1 WM6.5 23037

I extensively tested 23037 and it runs flawlessly. The only issues are with a couple programs that don't work well with these new builds. Namely, PocketRAR and TotalCommander. So, other than the builds being rough and not graphically super pleasing, they work awesome. Fast, light, and the latest and greatest.

I'll have 23041 up tonight. I was going to have it up right now, but a major bug was found in the base files and I will have to rebuild the ROM to fix it. I should have a Verizon and Sprint one both out tonight.

That is a program that does that (HTC Taskmanager or X Button, or WK Task). Windows auto closes apps if/when you need more memory. So, no, an install of a plain WM build (my 0.x series) will not have that unless you download and install that on your own. My 1.x series will have that functionality but that is still a week or so out (maybe Monday).

Re: [ROM][Updated 8/31/09]NagROM V0.1 and V1.0 (Soon) WM6.5 23037 (23041 Soon)

That's Microsoft's handiwork. These are the latest builds and that is the direction they are going with how they want Windows Phone (Windows Mobile) to look. My 0.x series have not been modified at all from the stock way it comes from MS (the old Office is removed so you can put in the newer one or whatever you want).

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/3/09]NagROM [WM Build 23041 for Vogue][Sprint & Verizon]

OK. They're up guys.

Apparently I'm a noob and don't know how to make a generic ROM with PPCK so I've individually made and uploaded Sprint, Verizon, and Alltel ROMs. Obviously, since I couldn't make a generic one, the Verizon and Alltel ROMs are untested. However, I didn't do anything different with them than I did with my Sprint one, other than change the carrier files, so they should work fine. Please let me know how they work.

Enjoy the new 23041 build (it may be the last since MS apparently issued a C&D takedown order on all of the latest files leaked).

ok so this beta is great for those who dont want to use many things as i have been with this nag build 01 n 02 , the things i run into is compatabilty issues with apps and programs .. chome's cdigital colck cgames ect, phone codes, dialers, upx, is it that it needs registry edits that differ from all the rest of builds , or does it need the certs removed from the build , themes need tobe edited lots of work todo .. I continue to use this build as i do like the UI kinda think some menus are better then finger friendly like vga size friendly directions to fixes or how to and ill kick in the time

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/3/09]NagROM[WM6.5 Build 23041][Sprint, Verizon, & Alltel]

Current themes will NOT work with this build or 23037. You will need to use new themes. There are already some up on XDA. All my games work fine with it though as do all my programs except Total Commander and PocketRAR.

Think of this as beta testing a new OS. You are going to have incompatibilities and you will have to wait a long time because these builds will not be released to software developers for a long time. 6.5 isn't even out, let alone the 6.5.1 that we are running.

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/3/09]NagROM[WM6.5 Build 23041][Sprint, Verizon, & Alltel]

thats not what i was gettn at nag, rar works ok for me with rar and zip files .. what i was sayn is i am vogue user and want to better make this work with my vogu100 .. iv ran about 40 differant cabs from most used by me and some standered programs i use sometimes i havent got to games as most need to have codes so if i want to play ill use spb self extracting back up .. i was woundering if you have workarounds or does the cabs need tobe oemed and cooked .. is it certs that need tobe removed ect as im working on the size of the dialer I use and looking to fix the scroll bar so it doesnt cut off 3 6 9 # i like the build and even with all my cabs installed i have greater then 60% memory left and aside of the dialer its not sluggish .. thats what i was say n

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/3/09]NagROM[WM6.5 Build 23041][Sprint, Verizon, & Alltel]

Ah, yes you will have to do the games manually. You will also need to install the SDK Certs cab. Dialers will NOT work with builds 23037 and 23041 either. You CAN use a custom skin for the default dialer, but that is it.

How did you get PocketRAR working? When I open it, I cannot select any of the buttons at the bottom. Or OK to save the settings?

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/3/09]NagROM[WM6.5 Build 23041][Sprint, Verizon, & Alltel]

wooptiewoous can you give me the 3.60 cab. The 3.90 cab doesn't work.

I can't mix 234 series with 230 series. But I will be transitioning to the 23409 with my next ROM as that the COM4 builds have finally caught up to the COM3 builds, so everything is switching to the 234XX series.

No, there is nothing included in this ROM at all. It is WM 6.5.1 only.

With the rate the the builds are being leaked, I may not get a chance to build a custom ROM (until things slow down) as I am more interested in trying out the latest stuff.

With this ROM has anyone been able to get the "lock device when display is turned off" to work? Every time I check this option and click OK it does not save. You can find this option under start/settings/lock.

No, the "lock device when display is turned off" does not seem to work. May be a placeholder for further work. You can use some simple programs to enable it though. Smartlock is one to look for.

The camera should work fine if you download the Vogue camera cab.

I am working on 23409 right now and should have it up by Monday at the latest, as well as a customized (maybe only slightly) ROM.

NagROM V0.3 WM 6.5 23409 for Sprint is up. The other carriers will follow tonight and tomorrow.

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/6/09]NagROM[WM6.5 Build 23409][Sprint, Verizon, & Alltel + Some]

I installed your 0.3 WM 23409 Sprint build. I know it is raw Microsoft, without any customizations, but it seems to me a lot of the dialogue boxes are in VGA rather than QVGA. They seem to have a very large font and in some cases don't entirely fit on the screen.

Thank you for undertaking this project. I would love to stick to very simple bloat-free ROMS, hopefully with correspondingly snappier performance.

Re: [ROM][Updated 9/6/09]NagROM[WM6.5 Build 23409][Sprint, Verizon, & Alltel + Some]

ejlmd, that is the way WM 6.5.1 is going to look. It will get more refined but everything is going to be bigger, more visual, and more finger friendly. It will involve more scrolling but less squinting and (hopefully) no stylus.

Also, the other carrier 23409 ROMs should be uploaded very soon.
