For people interested in GPS and not sure if this ROM makes it work and how fast:
I started from stock (virgin) Touch and flashed it with this one. Everything run fine, customization run fine too. Just to be on the safe side I hard reset (again). I took the storage card out (as someone on Sprintusers suggested) just in case. Once it was all done, I put the card back.
GPS performance:
Immediately after reset - takes 20-30 seconds for Google Maps or Live search to get a lock inside, faster if the Internet connection was already primed with say clicking on weather. iGo8 seems faster, but it takes probably 15-20 seconds for it to start up on my Touch. Outdoors (backyard) Live searched locked within 10 seconds (after soft reset, Interned primed) and similarly Google Maps got 8 birds under 10 seconds. iGo8 came up already locked.
I have not changed registry settings for GPS, so they are at default.
This may be only true on this specific device previously not bombarded with Mogul/Alltel/Early Beta ROMs.
I hope I am not breaking anything doing so many soft resets.

Though I can't speak to this ROM specifically, the 2nd DCD leak (which is very similar to this one) required me to do the gpsmode registry entry to get a GPS fix (HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL AGPS\GPSmode=4). I believe it was set to 2, and 4 gave me what I needed.

Worth a shot to those having GPS fix delays.

Those of you who were wondering earlier and asked for someone to run a CRC on the files to see what has changed:

The only file that has changed is 2.nbh

ALL other files remain the same between the leaked version and this official one.

Hey all

well here is my view so far on the Official HTC ROM update (Used Stock, then .02 then .04 and of this Morning the HTC update)

Works great so far, GPS locks on 10+ signals within 4 to 12 seconds cold (Las Vegas, NV area).

apps installed after the upgrade this morning that work without issue:
S2U2 (S2U2-1.05)
S2P (S2P-0.39)
WeatherPanel (WP_Trial 0 8 )
Emuntz Customizer (HHCv10Final w/Lpaso Diamond settings)
PPC 6800 Hacks (PPC6800)
Google Maps
PHM RegEdit
Audio manager (AudioManagerWM6.cab)
Clear Temp
HTC Kaiser Home - 6 Tab (HTC.Kaiser.Home.Eng.0409.6Tab.Schen)


So far so good - flashed the phone and allowed the customizations to occur this time (something I normally prevent) as I want to see how the stock setup plays out with speed, space usuage, etc and so far I will say that this has run flawlessly so far for the last few hours - no "need" to do the typical re-flashing/reboots that many in the past have spoke of much like the .02 version of the leaked ROM unlike the .04 leaked ROM which I did have to do the restarts to stablize the phone and the software

Will check on video performance, sound-music performance and any call, SMS, email issues when and/or if they arise

But I strongly recommend this for you especially if you like to early adopt hardware/software releases LOL

I just flashed the new ROM - I had no custom ROMs before this, just the stock Sprint firmware that came with it out ouf the box. I have yet to be able to get a lock an the GPS using both Google Maps and Live.

Any ideas?

Same problem....multiple soft resets and still no GPS lock with Google Maps.

Same here! I came from the Stock Sprint ROM... I had to Soft Reset to get a GPS Lock with Google Maps and it was fast.. But now I cant get a lock with anything.. I am going to Hard Reset without my SD and just see if that helps it... If not then maybe its because I have like 0 - 2 bars where I live.. Ill walk somewhere and try it.
