These is my Custom version of the new Sprint ROM released on 6/25/2008. This rom is NOT based on the PPCkitchen, it was built using DogGuys kitchen. This Rom is not protected and you may customize it if U wish by using the tutorials in my e-Signature at the end of my post.

*Before flashing this rom....*
You MUST be:
- Unlocked with the 2.31 unlocker,
- Upgraded your RADIO by flashing RUU_PPST_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_3.03.651.2_Radio_3.42.30 _AM_NV_2.04_Ship.exe



This ROM is based off the above Sprint Vogue FINAL Release, CE OS 5.2.19208 BUILD 19208.1.0.1

Tweaks:
- Deleted settings for InternetSharing from provisioning files and added them to zzz_My_Files_OEM's RGU File so the rom won't change them back.

Note: This Rom is my Rom as I run it. But I am looking forward to everyones input on this one, and will help you tweak your own if you ask.

I will update this post later to pretty it up, and Post #2 is reserved for Known issues/pending improvements.

Note: Today Screen: It may look blank. I have TodayClock set as 1, and GPSToday as #4. I install Spb PhoneSuite, and then Spb weather in UC and they fill in as #3 and #2 respectively...For a full today screen.

Common Questions / Fixes:
- PDANet, if you don't use it remove the following link: \windows\start menu\startup\PdaNetWM.lnk
- QuickMenu, if you don't use it remove the following link: \windows\start menu\startup\QuickMenu.lnk
- VistaHide Battery Guage, if you don't use it remove the following link: \windows\start menu\startup\VistaHide Battery Guage.lnk

Has anyone made a custom ROM like this for the VX6900. I have Verizon and it seems like of these are for Sprint. Thanks.

This ROM has 99% of everything exactly the way I like it! Installing now...

I just hope that it has the PPST.exe cab, so I can run it... some other custom 3.03 roms don't have it, and I end up with GPS problems..

i have the old ppst but not the one from 3.03 which gives flawless gps. i lost gps after 6 consequtive locks using gpstoday. i am guessing it's because of ppst, since the stock rom gps lasts indefinitely...

welp... running that PPST_204 on my Sprint Vogue destroyed the internet connection... quite interesting...

time for some testing (but I should be working...)

Do you have a link to the ppst.exe you want in the rom? I can easily add it. On this rom, I run without it. When I installled the original sprint rom, I let customizations run, waited for the IOTA to run, then flashed this. I have no problem with GPS, thus the GPS "bloatware" :)

btw: I'm trying to upload v3 to the FTP, but it's not cooperating. An updated build, looking to test the Vista-Cube, Dialer, WiseBar Adv2, and Touchpal v3.5.

Any volunteers to edit the registry settings for the cube to match the rom? I'm not an artistic guy. Then upload the icons, and an export of the biotouch registry?

The cab that yamus08 linked to is the correct one---but it's funny that they specifically state to run the cab, then run ppst.exe from \windows, like we used to on the old ppst.exe... but I think it AUTOMATICALLY runs ppst.exe after you run the cab file, because it makes you restart the device after the cab is run.

Plus, I tried running ppst.exe manually, and it totally barfed the internet--so I already hard-reset once this morning.

So far, I just ran ppst_204.cab, and I THINK I'm getting okay GPS results... I will only know by using it on/off all day... The main problem with most ROMs is that GPS just stops working after a few GPS sessions... I can usually break GPS by using GPSToday. I just do like 10 quick-locks in a row, and then by the 4th-10th try, it no longer works, at all... sometimes by the 5th try, it just gets really slow, like 2 minutes...

with the Sprint ROM, it is always the same... COLD=30 seconds or so, and HOT= 10 seconds or so...

I'll let you know what I find...

Got v3 uploaded to RapidShare for now....

Looking for someone to match the cube to the rom. New different features include: TouchPal 3.5, Vista Cube, and WiseBar v2.

Hopefully in the morning if I get time, and the ftp allowing, I was gonna upload my whole kitchen... I sorta lost it when I saw how artzy dharveys was. But this is still the rom I run and by uploading my kitchen, it will give everyone a good base to work off of and learn from...

:) I'm a never at home person so the only internet I have is tethering. Today the ftp didn't cooperate. It's coming, got the tutorial done, kitchen all zip'ed up...I'm just waiting for some bandwidth, er the ftp not to kick me off after 32mb's....

cant wait for this, this rom is well built and solid, I test all roms also and this thing rocks. dont ask me but look at my signature, look at the speed, with other roms i get in the mid 800's to 1100 at most. your's opens something else and its fast tethering.

EVERYTHING....Except my xml file to setup my e-mail w/usercustomization.... :) The base kit is how it sits on my hard drive now...

But of course! But....

You install the kitchen, prep the sprint rom, and simply replace the Sprint ..\kitchen\OEM folder with my ..\kitchen\OEM folder! So yes, it's all there!

I did replace the cube, replaced the keyboard, and deleted a few other things that were annoying.
