Re: Vogue GPS 3.02 Kitchen (w/ NEW Sprint Leaked ROM)

Just finished flashing... I like how the HTC splash screen says Test Only - Not For Sale (Easy enough to replace, I know... but I wasn't being sarcastic, I actually like it.)

I let the customizations run. During the process it connected to the Data network, went to landscape and back to portrait without me hitting anything. Fun.

I did a speed test.... before the update (Using Alltel radio and either gf's v7 or omj's rom, don't remember which but they're both good) I was getting around 1200 down and 100 up, and it was landing me in Chicago as the closest point, now it has me near Atlanta getting 1896 down and 207 up.

Going to download google maps and give the GPS a try (although I'm in an office building, so who knows).

If I remember correctly from the first Titan test ROM, that text wasn't just part of the splash. You could change the image, but that text still found it's way onto the screen. Some other kind of HTC shenanigans

3 mins next to an office window facing NW (if it matters, i'm in south florida fwiw) and no lock with Google Maps. It seems like the OS is a bit snappier but it could just be placebo effect.

Re: Vogue GPS 3.02 Kitchen (w/ NEW Sprint Leaked ROM)

I think sprint just hasn't enabled agps on their end (server side) yet for vogue, so locks can be slow or poor indoors.
Same thing with mogul in the beginning.
I think Sprint forgot to add VIRSER_GPS.dll as well :P wasn't in the dump so it was added to the kitchen version. That could be why I'm seeing results.

Also, don't forget to run QuickGPS. This will help get your initial positioning squared away faster.

Anyone concerned there is a risk that we'll have difficultly downgrading to the earlier PRI after this update, or will Cokeman's tools permit the downgrade?

so it IS in the version you pimps provided? Gotta love the Internet...

The GPS is what I needed, so I'm not sure if there is something else I need to do...

Thanks!

That leads to my next question. Is this version different from the 3.02 ROM that the kitchen updater is downloading automatically?
