OEM Stock Build WM6.1 19209

ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/JD...sprint2921.rar

Y'all know the routine (just make sure ya hit the scales for good luck)

1 issue - this version comes with ms voice command built in so I took out cyberon voice speed dial so now the side press and hold key is not mapped - to correct simply go to settings\personal\buttons and map the key to voice command or whatever you want

this one is a beta that I will have to fix I forgot to put in a proxml file ..... its late and I will fix this tomorrow but for now ........... enjoy

Without sounding like a newb, what are we missing with a proxml file?

Any updates on this ROM with the proxml file?

Re: OEM Stock Build WM6.1 19209

Gave it a try and reverted to an older ROM...

1.)ActiveSync won't work at all. WMP picks up the card but AS does not like it at all.
2.)Can't install anything. No errors. It just says the installation was unsuccessful.

That would be because of the missing proxml file what it has is the registry entries to relax security........ rebuilding now

As of right now, the date on the 209 is 3/30, so I would say that it hasn't been fixed.

One can only hope it's a newer version of Voice Command that doesn't have the issues that 1.6 had but I doubt it.

Thanks for all your work on this JD. I'm just itchin' to try 209 out after my Touch went TU this weekend.

score =D>

my Touch is waiting on my desk at home (delivered, earlier today).

I think I may just turn it on and go straight to unlocking it and loading this rom.

I should probably let the stock sprint customizations run just once. :disgust:

Re: OEM Stock Build WM6.1 19209

The Voice Command is version 1.6.19209 which I think is more recent than the old paid version I had. I'm getting voice dial confirmations working correctly which was a major problem with the old version.

As for the rom itself, everything seems great so far. Thanks jd!

Ok, now I'm really, really excited.

I use Voice Command exclusively ... >1 hour commute each way, every day and ... well, I'm looking forward to this!

JD is it possible if you can implement USER CUSTOMIZATION v2.0 with the ROM that way whenever/if I have to Hard Reset, I can have many of my programs still in there and not have to start from square 1? Thanks.

I use UC myself, and am probably going to slip it into this rom. If I do, I'll be sure to post it here. (I also like to do a PagePool customization, but its a one-click process to change, so if there's a certain size pp you like, let me know, and I'll post it with that size).

JD, if you'd rather do this yourself, since its your rom, let me know and I'll stand down :)

I bumped the PagePool down a bit (personal preference) but I used the PagePool_Changer.exe file that I'd pulled from Old Man Jenkin's rom. 10 second fix and you can pretty easily do it yourself. Just download the changer (attached). Download JD's rom and extract the .nbh file. Run the changer app and when it asks for a rom select the new 19209 rom you just extracted.

Change just the Whole Part numbers along the top (4, 6, 8, 12, etc) save it and load that sucker to your phone.

Hey, I flashed the previous build of this 209 rom, but I had to go back to the older 202 rom. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the rebuilt 209 rom has an option for "roaming only" under settings > phone > services > network settings (previously called 'roaming' settings). Thanks yo.

Yes, it's got the Roaming only option. The three options are Sprint Only / Automatic / Roaming Only

It also has the ability to turn on/off the Data Roam Guard (the annoying "Are you sure you want to connect" message).

Thanks. That was one of the things missing from the original build, and it is very important to me. Sprint is terrible around my apartment.

And thanks for the great work JD. Flashing now...

Re: OEM Stock Build WM6.1 19209

I've only been running this ROM for a few hours, but wanted to post some observations:

As one user stated, the voice command prompts are more consistent in this version. However, voice command still does not work as well as it did in WM5. I think we need to determine how to turn off the mic AGC before that will be possible.

Also, my phone has not yet locked up while on a call with this ROM. Prior to this rom, I had to use S2U2 to blank the screen while on a call, or it would lock up on every call between 1-5 minutes in. I've been on several 10+ minute calls with this ROM and it hasn't locked up once (not using S2U2 to blank the screen). Very nice!

Other than that, it is very similar to the other ROMs on the market. These are both very significant upgrades, though!

Dave

I am not having much success with this. I've tried a couple of different AudioPara.csv files and now I am trying the kitchen that OMJ put together, with one of no2chem's rom's and the Voice Command OEM from PPCKitchens.

Apologies for not being clearer, JD. Out of the box, with this ROM, CallerID and Message Announcements over Bluetooth are barely audible with my Jabra BK-250.

Fully understood and on a side note I'm already thinking perhaps I shouldn't have messed with the PagePool as it seems a bit slow, but I've already reloaded all the SW and serials and don't want to hard reset it again so I'll stick it out till the EVDO Rev A update. Thanks again Jak!

What size page pool are you using?

If you do can you PM me the download link unless you post a new thread with it? I would really like to have UC so I dont have to go through ALL my cabs and stuff again in case of a Hard Reset situation.

Thanks.

So far so good. No lock ups as I was having with all other CustomROMS including JD's previous builds.

The only one that was working for me before was OMJ's because it stayed more true to the STOCK ROM and I think that is why this one is working for me too, Its pretty much a STOCK ROM with no customization other than WM6.1.

Great work, thanks.

Re: OEM Stock Build WM6.1 19209

Thanks, jakdillard! This ROM is my first and my experience has been excellent. Super stable! I don't know why I waited so long to dive into flashing...

I tried searching, so my apologies if this is something that has come up before, but it seems as though bluetooth dun/pan through internet sharing on the touch no longer works after flashing this ROM. Is this a drawback of 6.1 in general, or is this a possible bug? I use it pretty frequently, so I know its not user error (unless some further configuration is now required in 6.1).

Thanks in advance for your help! And thanks again for a great ROM!

Thanks for the direction!

Re: OEM Stock Build WM6.1 19209

Thanks for posting all of your sprint roms. I like having it as close to stock as possible with 6.1. However, I've had some problems with this one that I've read other people report in various threads about different ROMs and I can't help wondering why some people have success and other's don't when it is the same hardware.

First, here are the problems I've had with 19209: My active sync kept resyncing my contacts with my exchange server and I didn't realize it until I had the names repeated over 20x for each contact. Second, I've had the same problem as most everybody with Voice Command, but with this new built in version I can't even activate Voice Command with my Headset. Also, There is not one version of Windows Live I've been able to get to work with recieving mail as it arrives except for when I use the stock ROM.

Now, the problem above I currently have with this 19209 ROM. I've flashed back to the stock rom, hardreset, flashed this current ROM, Hardreset, did not install any other programs, and I still can't get voice command to work, and I can't update Sprint TV. I get the message that I need to upgrade, then I download and try to install, but It can't uninstall the old version. I did try installing on top of the old version and that worked, but why would I not be able to uninstall from this version but I can from some of the other ROMS.

Anyway, I do appreciate all the ROM's you have done. These are just some things I don't really understand and I hope someone can shed some light on for me. Many Thanks Jakdillard.
