different SMS ringtones for contacts

how would I get custom ringtones for certain contacts on my HTC TP? I wouldnt mind paying for a program.

If you want to get diferent ringtones for each contact just go to contacts and select one, then select edit and there should be the option to select the ringtone that you want for your contact.
If what you want its to make custom ringtones you can use the mp3 trimmer that comes with your phone.

that doesnt make the phone ring a different tone for each contact when it comes to SMS. the only option i know is i believe a program called palringo. it allows you to set tones for each person and even for SMS i believe.

you're right. Hes thinking of RINGO..which is ok..VERY ANNOYING if you get a text message while on the phone though...kind of makes it not worth it.

yep, ringo. knew it was something like that. LOL. i havent used it in a while. the beep before the ringtone is kind of annoying which is why i stopped using it but it is the only option i know of. its a shame to because even the cheep LG phones used to do it standard. its had to believe that a cheap flip phone would do it but a high end smartphone wont.
