change default internet app
 

i just downloaded opera 10 beta and its amazing! i want to set it as my default internet app but cant figure out how to do it. i currently have opera 9 as default but its been closing down unexpectedly on me (usually only on ppcgeeks website for some reason?). anyway any help would be appreciated.

I want to clarify: i found the post explaining how to make opera the default for other programs but what I would like to know is how to make opera 10 the default in touchflo. When I click the globe for launch browser it goes to opera 9. Also my push pages are in opera 9.

To change the default browser for TF3D, you need to change the contents of a file called InternetPortal.xml in the folder \Application Data\Manila

You need to add this line in after <InternetPortal>

<BrowserExe>\Program Files\Opera Mobile 10\Opera10-armv4i.exe</BrowserExe>

The file is write protected, use Total Commander to change it's attributes and edit the file and change the attributes back to Write Protect and System.


Alter the path of that line to your location of Opera 10, that path is for it being installed on the storage card in the program files. If I put \storage card\ in front, it wouldn't work.

Yep, it works. I found this same thing on another post. The problem I had, it kept saying host filename error, which has now been fixed. However there is a new problem, it still tries to open Opera9 when you click web search or bookmarks when the keyboard is out in landscape. I also noticed when I clicked on the about touchflo tab it did the same.

I found the exact same thing on mine as well. I think the other alternative is to copy the Opera 10 files to the Windows folder to replace the Opera 9 that is part of the ROM.
