Re: bluetooth and battery life

If its not being used, i havent seen much of a drain like my other phones were. I guess it depends on how often it polls for a pairing. I dont use it very much so i leave it off until i need to use it and then turn it back off.

Re: bluetooth and battery life

I leave my bluetooth on all day and my battery life is terrible. I talk for under 1hr/day and sent/receive 100 texts and by the end of the day, I have no battery life, meaning I get the onscreen warning regarding memory loss.

When I'm at work now, I just leave it charging all day until I leave the office or go home so when I'm at home or out, I have a "fully charged" battery but still the battery goes down fast.

I have another OEM battery and both works equally as bad. That is probably the main thing I hate about this phone. The phone has "issues", but the fact I can't get a full days use out of it w/o having to recharge it at the end of the day, if it makes it a full day, is very disappointing.

Re: bluetooth and battery life

I use the Psyklone ROM and leave data and BT off when not in use and get about 24hrs when I surf a little, play games some, send MMS etc. If I don't do anything with it I can leave it on all night and maybe lose 2% battery. The other night I looked and it was at 86% battery, slept my full 8 hrs and when I woke up I had, yep, 86% battery.

Re: bluetooth and battery life

I had always left BT off unless I was using it for like the last year. Last week, I decided to just leave it always on and I think makes very little difference.

Pull the battery, or swap it out with another. Sounds like the phone isnt charging it all the way.

Talking on BT will absolutely kill the battery. You asked about leaving it on, not talking on it vs using it normally. Browsing and texting also kills a battery no matter the phone. Only talking kills it faster.

Re: bluetooth and battery life

Before I was *educated* on how data usage drains my battery, I used to always keep a website page open, was always checking the weather, had google maps running, aol IM and facebook IM running.

There were times when I was LUCKY if my battery lasted 2-3 hours. Now from my settings I turn my data off. I only check the weather when I dont have access to a window *lol* and I dont really IM much these days since I love txting so much, so that being said, my battery life these days has drastically improved. NOW it goes anywhere from 3-10 hours on just a simple stock battery. I also use the sktools FREE UP RAM utility which helps battery performance as well I have noticed.
