Sprint to VZW

So i have a friend that needs to borrow a phone but she has VZW how do i switch my old Touch Pro from sprint to verizon do i just run the VZW radio then flash a VZW compatable rom?

It isn't going to work. Verizon won't accpet an esn from a sprint phone in their system.

Is this true? I could have sworn that there was a way to do this but I can't seem to find the post...I would also like to do this as a friend just gave me his old sprint TP and I am on VZW
