you say recently, so I'm guessing it wasn't like this at first? maybe it's going bad. have you done a hard reset? also, i would flash to a different radio.

Re: What is the problem with my TP's GPS?

I just developed a problem with mine. It started out with Garmin Mobile XT having a hard time finding satellites then it would just reboot itself. Other times freeze and require a soft reset. I hard reset the device and loaded several different backups with same results. Seems that the GPS will find a signal 1 time for just a second then freeze or reset itself. Subsequent soft resets will not find a GPS signal. I am ordering a new device today.
PS: Google Maps or Amaze GPS can't find a signal either. I am looking for an app that will monitor the GPS.

as i suggested above, do a hard reset to rule out software. if you still have the problem then flash to a different radio. if it's still messed up, then i would say hardware malfunction

Re: What is the problem with my TP's GPS?

Question for those with GPS issues...

Are you using a Custom rom and if so which one?
It is possible that your rom could be using that gps lag hack cooked in and that is why your GPS is not working correctly.

You need to give more information on your setup if anyone is going to help you.

What OS are you using? 6.1 or 6.5 or 6.5.1?
What GPS software are you using? GPS Today? I had issues with that screwing up my phone...
Are you all using roms by the same chef?

In ordere to trouble shoot we need to know what you all have in common other than the fact you all own TP1s

Re: What is the problem with my TP's GPS?

Mine started exhibiting the same symptoms about a week ago. Google Maps and Sprint Nav both would not work or lock the phone up in Google if it did locate me. I tried to hard resets to no avail and took it to the sprint repair store for a new phone. So far both programs seem to be working fine. I was running the stock ROM not the newest one that HTC release a month or so ago.

Check this: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=92926

It seems there is a problem with QuickGPS pushing some bad file. There are two ways to fix it:

Flash a new radio OR (easier, no hard reset or soft reset required)
Replace the file (xtra.bin or some obscure .ee file in the windows folder) with an older version. (harder, only if you want to confirm quickgps as the source of the issue)

I would recommend to also disable quickgps to prevent it from performing any updates.
