Alltel GPS ISSUES

I would just like to post that I have been trying to fix the GPS on my TP from alltel now for over 3 weeks and with no luck I about gave up. I had tried many different roms, and suggestions from other threads and forums. I tried editing registry and using advanced config and yet I was still with little to no satellites whatsoever.

Amazingly the fix for myself was very simple, which is typically how most of the issues end up.

I just updated my radio.

I was running 1.12.20F

I then switched to 1.03.13F (ported from Diamond)

And within 10 seconds I had 10 satellites fixed.

Hope this will help some of you with the same issue.

To get GPS with the newer 1.12.xx radios, you need to delete the entire reg key at...

HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS

Just delete the whole thing, and your GPS will work with the newer radios, However, this key is needed to work with the older radios such as the one you are using now.

I'm not sure if that fix in fact works for Alltel's 1.12.20F? At least it isn't for me. I believe I will change radios.

Edit: I just searched for 'GPS' within the stickied radio thread and this seems confirmed all over the place, the registry change works for Sprint's 1.12.34F but not Alltel's 1.12.20F.

I just switched to 1.12.34F and GPS went from non-functional to ~8 locked SATs within 11 seconds (I timed). Win!
