Really sick of fancy rom, just care about battery life now
 
I ever have lots of interest in testing and use ROMs in last several months, now I got bored about it. For a guy, like myself, who spends lots of time with computer, fancy ROM functions does not mean too much, for myself.

Now, what I care most is the battery life. I tried several ROM, very bad battery life, also easily get heated. Playing with fancy ROMs, I lost basic function of a 'phone'.

Now, I want to stick with the basic function of a phone. Anyone can tell me how to get nice battery life, together with stable, fast, and simple phone performance?

I think then you should get back to stock. I know there is another ROM around that has a good battery performance but it is really light but in the meantime, stock is the way to go for you.

the one that I use that gives you the best of both worlds is Psyki's ROM very very little problems and my battery with normal usage will last a day and a half

I'm a big fan of EnergyROM myself, although I recently tried Psyki too. I think the newer features from the more recent roms are pretty great, I found the rom speed and battery life to be troublesome.

I've recently switched to MightyRom 6 Final and I've been very satisfied. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the 6.5.1 roms, but battery life is good, and enough of the features that I use to keep me happy.

try NFSFANs rom..stable, good battery, still somewhat stockish but with good performance as well

If you want a bone stock, up-to-date, very tweaked, good battery life ROM....give JD's a shot.

You're insane. Stock roms are the worst for battery.

Changing the subject, but my buddy has been running the new sprint stock rom for a few days so he can take it in for service and the battery (and speed) is light years ahead of the original ROM. I thought it was a pretty decent rom actually.

grooves has pretty good life, but the fancier the rom, the more battery life it sucks out. try grooves or someone who still has 6.1 or the last 6.5 builds. manila will suck you dry also...

the newest official sprint rom has great battery life for me, lasts easily 3x longer then energyrom did on the same phone.

I have used several ROMs in the past few weeks due to this and that and the unmanagable urge to flash! energyROM being my main stomping ground, and I am able to get all day out of a charge now. Yes the ROM is somewhat of a batt hog, but when tweaked and tuned can easily last a moderate user the work day. Defining moderate user and the parameters is the toughest part!
So many factors, so little way of managing them all though! My stock ROM however is no better than what I get out of energyROM or several of the other newer ROMs.

Really? On my own experience stock gave me a few more hours of battery life between recharges.. I guess is because I had just a phone back then hehe

NFSFAN's rom hands down best for battery and 2nd runner up would have to be the Energy Rom's.

other than that there overloaded, buggy and gonna have u soft resetting and draining batt like crazy

Well, maybe I'm wrong, and the new stock rom has decent battery life. In the past though it was the worst.

I'm currently on NFSANS Oct. 14 release and it has good battery life IF data is off!! yea a lot of ROMS give you good battery life if you're a light user. As soon as I connect to exchange and leave data on my batt. starts to drain. If you really want good battery life I suggest you invest in an extended battery.

Another vote for the basic stock 6.1 rom. Just installed the newest TP (sprint) 6.1 rom and surprisingly my batt is lasting 2 days. Not heavy usage, mostly on stand by of course. But gmail push (ev 15 mins at peak), bit of texting and checking forums like ppc geeks and sprint users regularly (couple hours in between).

Have also found it to be quite responsive, little to no lag. My .02 anyway :)

the newest stock rom upgrade really makes it fast and stable IMO. By buddy doesnt want a custom rom anymore.

If you don't want any of the "fancy rom stuff" and more simple usage and battery life DCD's rom would probably be perfect for you.

Thanks a lot for you guys helpful suggestion.

Now I installed the official HTC ROM. Looks nice. I will report how is the battery life. Here, I have two questions:

(1) Since I do not have Sprint TV, so where to remove its tab from the TouchFLO interface? There is a TFLO setting, but no for this.

(2) I desperately need the 'lock phone' function, anyone can direct me where to download the cab file for it?

cdma touch pro upgrades. any sticky for locking/locking your phone.

+1 for stock rom. every rom has something someone doesn't like. programs you don't want, add these cabs to get on your carrier, what ever. i like custom roms and the fact they exist, but i get tired of them and revert to stock often. although i could go without nascar and nfl, but to each their own.

Mighty/Silence ROM is a very fast stalble rom with great battery life...
And its very light, its not overloaded with programs you dont want, just add whatever you like.
IMHO its one of the best ROMS for the touch pro!!!
