On the phone with sprint now call them up new policy said they would call the store of your choice and work it out for you! ive just had 2 replacements in 2 weeks is all and she is gonna take care of it for me she says

yeah I got this crap too, I have TEP and they still charged me $120 for my TP to get replaced with a TP like a week or so ago :protest:

Getting my replacement TP2 on Thursday. I'm on my 5th TP and my screen is starting to peel. Took it into the Repair store so they could verify the problem and say that it needed to be exchanged and had it put it into my notes. Called 888-211-4727 after I got home, hit 4 then 0, explained the situation told them about the internal memo, transferred me over to Advanced exchange (no phone number, you have to have them transfer you). Told them the story again, they verified and are sending me my phone. However I was told when I was in the store because they didn't have any TP's that I would have to call in to have it replaced. So YMMV with trying to get it replaced in store.

Hi there!! I have fully reviewed this information for you. It looks as though the Touch Pro 2 can be activated onto the Sero plan. Hope this helps!

I truly apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding. After further reviewing this for you, it looks as though the Touch Pro 2 would need to be placed on one of the Everything Data plans. You may find this information online at Sprint.Com. When viewing the device online at Sprint.Com, please click the More Info link. Once you have done this, it will bring up a seperate window displaying more information about the device. You will see Mail-in Rebate Requirement: For this phone to work and to get your mail-in rebate, you'll need a plan with data or qualified data add-on. See plan details. Clicking the link regarding plan details will display the compatible plans. Again I do apologize for the confusion. If you have any more questions feel free to private message.


Nothing like getting it straight from the horse's mouth, unless that is the horse can't make up its mind. I do not wonder why sprint is losing so many customers. Now, remember, I ASKED very specifically if I could put it on my EXISTING SERO account. The answer first says yes, and then says no. And goes further to NOT EVEN MENTION SERO as an option.

I stumbled across this thread only after I had been offered a TP2 to replace my TP in-store. Unfortunately, it was out of stock and they had to replace my TP with a TP. I'll get my replacement TP on Monday/Tuesday.

Ruin what, exactly? It's the carriers call on how to replace these phones and with what. So your saying that if people "pull one over" on Sprint, who are just gaming the system for an upgraded model, then Sprint will then cease to replace these phones with TP2's? Leaving people with real legitimate problems out in the cold (i.e. with a refurbished TP?), or raising plan prices? Ridiculous. Sprint rarely ever does anything with consistency across the board - it's all on who you talk to.

well my touch pro seems to be broken....my lovely snap on case pulled the exterior strip on the front off. So, I think I'm going for the tp2 through assurion. Wish me luck ;)

Wow I can't believe this worked... spent about 2-3 hrs total for me to get this done at my sprint store.. Rochester,MN.. first i flashed back to stock then deleted some keyboard registry keys so my keyboard didnt not function then went in and said I had kybd issues and had been on phone for 2 hours with multiple sprint techs they told me to bring it in and swap it out (lie) they said "they would have to look at it comeback in 30-45 mins.. " came back knowing if they hard reset kybd would work but oh well i said it was intermittent anyways.. came back they never even hard reset and said they "had ordered me a replacement tp..." I said whoa slow down.. then this was first time I mentioned anything about other phones and said tech on phone told me I would be able to choose from list.. he said oh u know about that they shouldn't of told u that but ill pull up the list.. he then offered me every other phone bb tour, snap, anything else but not tp2... so i said i really want a touch screen, win mobile, and sliding kybd.. hmm he says.. "then u want another tp.." i said no too many issues.. I think tech on phone said I would be able to get a tp2 mailed out.. " oh, they really shouldn't of told u that let me call my head tech/sup" bout 10 mins later and more sales pitches about blackberry they said they had ordered me a tp2 it would be here on tuesday... came home reflashed nrgz rom and ill wait for my new tp2 on tuesday.. thanks again.. my advice play dumb and drop info as needed and be persitant

I think you really have to look at a bigger picture here. This would not only potentially ruin the chances of people with legidimate problems to get their TP exchanged (they may revise the policy and make it tougher); but pure FRAUD like this is what causing insurance and other premiums to go up. So let's not call it gaming the system please - you are not at the casino, it is fraud plain and simple. It is ruining it to all of Sprint users since we are all paying for it one way or another. There is no free lunch.

Good luck to everyone who really have defective TPs!! Hope it won't get lonely here...

Yeah but I think insurance is stupid to have it if it doesn't fully cover a phone. IE: what that hell am I constantly paying money for if I'm just going to have to pay money when something happens. That doesn't make any damn sense.

I have TEP and just recently got my TP replaced because the keyboard wouldn't work. They said there was water damage and charged me $120....it's BS because this phone never even was near water let alone water damaged....Hell I'd replace the keyboard myself since I know how to do it, I'll gladly think of a way to get a TP2 now...that $120 justified my upgrade

Couldn't agree more. In my case, actually my wife's the keyboard is faulty and I think the phone has a bad radio, it misses calls and receives late text all the time while my diamond never skips a beat, we work in the same building and live in the same house, so location is not the issue. If they replace it with a TP that does not have these issues, great! If they replace it with a TP2, even better. Bottom line is this particular phone has to go and if she can get a TP2 in the process then fantastic!

The fraudulent activity is really unsettling though. I hate liars on any scale, large or small.

Went to my local Sprint repair store...after the people in the back...behind the windows took a look (an hour or so) the guy said they would be sending me a touch pro to my house. I asked and double checked that it was a TP and nothing else and he confirmed twice it was a TP. It sounded from the OP that they weren't giving out TPs anymore...I'm hoping for the TP2. We will see. Should I call someone and see what they ordered? Any ideas? Can they still even order a TP?

well i really like my touch pro but sprint is really ticking me off im chatting with cs..ive replaced my tp once for keyboard issues my brand new tp of about month and a half is starting to have same problems.key board has gone out twice but it is working fine.i would like a touch pro 2.what cs is saying is they will send me another touch pro if i want a different phone i have to spend 600 since im not elligible.now i dont wanna keep having to replace my tp every month or two any ideas?

Try installing a better software keyboard and use it more? Be more gentle on the hardware keyboard...

watermarks keyboard failure etc etc

I was able to get Sprint to replace my TP w/ a TP2. They say it's going to be a refurb, but hopefully it ends up being new. If not, oh well. I'm on my 6th TP now - the random hard resets on this one and the last one, along with the keyboards & face buttons dying on every single one I've had have really gotten old. Should have my TP2 Monday/Tuesday.

This was at the Sprint store at 8440 Rio San Diego Drive, San Diego, CA 92108 in case anyone in the area wants to try it out. They had no idea what was going on until I showed them the HowardForums link. A bunch of the people working there were really excited about it once they found out. If you have a legit hardware problem with your TP, I would imagine you'll have no problem getting a TP2 from that store.

lol what fraud everyone has issues with this phone that is why this condition exists.. my keyboard goes out every other day.. press hard enough on space bar it worked again.. for awhile.. simply making sure the issue happened at that time is all I did.. seems like the only people on the moral high ground are ones that cant get a tp2 from there store

sounds to me like the warehouse is out of TP2's due to the big push of people with TP's wanting a TP2, the reason your getting offered different phones rather than the TP2 is cuz they can't order from the warehouse due to no more stock. just a heads up. so everyone trying should stop til they have more in stock.

if u got a legit issue, i would wait till middle of next week. with all of these demands its gonna be REALLY hard for Sprint to keep these in stock. the reason for this is Sprint is losing money on the TP and in some instances are proactively going into a comp model. i would give it some time tho, it will come, just wait til their in stock, no worries.

So the best way would be to go into a store? Or should I call it in? I see that I should wait a couple days and try it. My TP's keyboard is starting to act up once again and really don't want another referb TP.

I was talking to sprint retentions explaining all my problems and they called the nearest store to me on conference call and when they said touch pro the store tech said let me stop you right there bring it in and I'll offer you another phone diff model so I'm headed there now wish me luck touch pro 2 here I come !!!!!

Well my Touch Pro finally broke. strangest thing, data stopped working, and all the info on my tp was gone. msl wouldnt work, weird. took it to a store, and they confirmed it, something died inside the phone. i must be outta the loop or something, cause they told me the touch pro was discontunued 4 months ago. ? really? no touch pros iin the store, and they dont have touch pro 2's yet (next month) and this is one of milwaukees biggest sprint stores. curious to see if the tp the ordered for me will be new or refurbished.

just returned from my local repair facility...

TP2 on order as a replacement for my ailing TP. no hassles, in fact the tech was gonna rattle off a bunch of applicable replacements but told him to stop when he got to TP2. should be in 10/14/09

going into the store seems fine, prolly best bet, i called mine in over the phone and they said they were out of stock, which is odd how stores are still ordering them? they all come from the same place
