Can't ID mystery alert

I've searched a while for this w/o success...

My g'friend's TP has an alert firing after it completes a restart. It sounds like a default low battery alert, but with no pop-up, and it fires regardless of battery level.

Used Memmaid to clear out invalid notifications, and thought I'd cleared it. Rebooted her phone last night, and it's there again. The alert/event repeats every couple mins for 5-6 times. After that, it dosen't repeat 'till the next reboot.

New TP, Stock rom.

Anyone know where I should look next?

Re: Can't ID mystery alert

are you running the new Stock Rom or the initial release? maybe unchecking alert for phone event will kill it under setting/sound-notification

Re: Can't ID mystery alert

It was purchased a month ago, so I'd assume (yeah I know lol) the new stock. I'll check that alert/event when she gets home with it. Thanks.

Re: Can't ID mystery alert

Finally got back to this... only comes up on reboot. I can't seem to ID a "phone event" in notifications.. only one that comes close is for incomming calls, and she'd get a lil' irritated if I disabled that one. lol

Rom Ver is stock 1.03.651.4
Went through the notification que and found two dups today, but clearing those out last time didn't make a difference.

Can't seem to find any low battery alerts, that's what it sounds like.

Thanks again for any suggestions.

Re: Can't ID mystery alert

I was having the same problem with my sprint tp. I did this and it seemed to stop the alert.

From Touch Pro Essentials

You can make your phone stop making noise when you enable/disable the radio. Edit [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA\FlightModeOnOff] and change Sound_on and Sound_off to desired sound, or blank for no sound. source.

Re: Can't ID mystery alert

I see "connection established", and "begin activesync" (not much used), but neither is the right one...

I appreciate the input though.

gah, well now I'm more frustrated. lol

Thinking it might be an alert firing when it connected data, I setup a wifi connection and rebooted. The handset didn't beep on reboot. Then I noticed 4 unread e-mails... reminder? Had her clear those, turned off the wifi and rebooted. Nothing. I sent a test e-mail and rebooted again w/o the wifi.. silence. I'm not unhappy with this event not firing, but I truely hate errors or glitches that mysteriously 'fix' themselves w/o explination.

Thanks again for your indulgence. I guess I'll leave this 'till the next time it fires. I'm not convinced yet. lol

Re: Can't ID mystery alert

cjac999,

I think that's exactly what I've been looking for. I'll toggle the phone's radio tonight to verify that's the culprit, then try your fix. Post back with results. Many thanks.
