Automatically turn off data when in 1x
Does anyone know if there is a program/reg edit/whatever to disconnect data while on 1x? I work in a location where I have great EV reception at my desk but if I go to the other side of the office it flips to 1x. 1x drains the poop out of my battery…any ideas so my phone automatically turns data off when entering 1x and turns back on when back in EV?
Thanks! |

mortscript or another programming method would be needed. I have yet to find a connection management app that is smart enough for that, heck one period would be nice... lol.

this would be a great app if it was developed.

Dont know if this app might help...check it out if you like. |
Re: Automatically turn off data when in 1x
That app changes your data connection from 3G to 2G, which is the same thing as EVDO and 1x so it wouldn't do much for the OP's situation since he is already in 2G. Maybe with further development it will be able to do what OP is looking for though.

Now I dont know how this app works...and if it works like EV Only and shuts Voice/Text..etc., but lets say calls still come through and it switches to 1x auto.
I was looking at it this way, what apps does the OP have open that use the data...like PIE/Opera/PushMail in the background..etc....the manual is alittle confussing...but lets say the Op uses PIE and leaves it open to update scores/weather..etc.....well the OP can have it set to only on the 3G Whitelist..so once he goes to a 2g network it will not update and the data will go idle and can auto disconnect. Then once the Op goes back to 3G...PIE restarts data. Again from reading the manual...it is very confussing. So many ways to configure the settings, now it does have a disconnect data while roaming. |
