Unhappy Well it happened to me. TP went for a swim..

Ya today as my dad and I were going out to waterski, he got in the boat with my phone in his pocket and apparently it fell out on our way to the dock (no idea where or when exactly). Looked around all over the place but all we could figure was it was chillin at the bottom somewhere in the mud. What was odd was it was picking up calls for about 3hrs before finally only going to voicemail. If it really was workin that time then props to its ruggedness lol. It was a pretty good phone to me. The major loss isnt just the phone but the new 16GB MicroSD I got for it and my old Magnetic Titan case.. Nuts.

Got a new/Referbished TP coming from Insurance for $100 but I was also thinking of getting a TP2 with my upgrade for that $199 price I heard about. Since my dad lost it he would probably pay for the new phone. I have a couple extra batteries for the TP and a cradle with an extra battery charger built in I would probably sell with it. That might recover a bit of the cost.

Goodby TP... You were a good phone and friend.

Could you let us know if they end up sending you a refurb or new? I thought they sent out new ones if you didnt have the other phone to exchange the battery with.

I will report back on that. I did the online order but I did not see any Refurb in any of the replacement phone details. If I get a NEW phone instead of a Refurb that would definitly make my day. I also plan to go to Sprint today after church and check out the TP2. I hear the overheating issues are taken car of with it so I might just use my upgrade and keep both phones and use the TP as a testbed.

Re: Well it happened to me. TP went for a swim..

Well I got my replacement Touch Pro from Insurian (FedEx delivered a little faster than UPS today. TP2 still should arive in about an hr or so). I can confirm that it is a new in box Touch Pro. Unopened just as if I got it at the store. I would strongly advise people to not report their phones as stolen or lost if they are not (or if they were "made" stolen or lost) if they are in reality not. If people abuse the system they will pick up on it and of course probably make it where they just send out refurb phones with batteries or worse, stop offering the service or upping the already increased Deposit price.

Re: Well it happened to me. TP went for a swim..

You were one of the lucky ones. Well I do see now sprint is sending out NIB phones to people, I got one 2 weeks ago. Actually almost the same as you but I didn't drop mine. Sprint first replaced the phone, then in the same phone call got me the TP2 $250. So I got the TP1 on Monday and the TP2 on Tuesday, lol. 7 Replacements in 2 1/2 months. So what I did. I was going to sell the TP1 but just threw it on my other line and gave it to my wife. Her TP is running fine and I am glad it was a NIB TP1 or sprint and I would have had serious problems. 3 referbs came to me with out batteries or battery covers and 1 even came with the d-pad and screen physically off the phone. Oh, well glad it worked out for you....Congrats!!

My USB port was damaged on mine. I has a tech in a Sprint store look at it. they ordered me a replacement. I though tI was getting a refurb when they told me they would order me a replacement. But when I got there, it was brand new!
