Re: Touch Pro Weather Fix HELP!!

I had same problem, make sure everything is EXACT, and do u have net3.5 installed? Also I put the zip code after the city name and that fixed it for me.

Touch Pro Weather problem

I have the TP from Sprint and cannot add my city to the Weather Database. I tried using the Weather Database Editor from the xda-developers forums but I always get an error that it cannot remove the write protection from the database.

Using Total Commander, I looked at the properties of the database and it shows it as "in ROM". It would seem that this would preclude any editing of the database. So how can I add my city to the weather database?

The weather application is pretty much useless if I cannot add my city!

Any help would be appreciated.

Chris

Re: Touch Pro Weather problem

Yes, that is the program I used, but instruction number 2:

". At application startup database write protection will be checked and removed."

results in an error:

"File write protection of database couldn't be removed"

I think this is because the database is stored "in ROM" (see screenshot above).

Is there anyway to make the weather app use a different database file?

It seems strange that the Diamond is different than the Pro in this regard.

Re: Touch Pro Weather problem

did you use tf3d configurator to install a theme?

i had a similar problem

at first, the database editor worked. i used tf3d configurator to install a theme. i disliked the theme, so i "restored default" after i restored to default, the WDE gave me the same error you are getting. only way i could fix it was a hard reset

Re: Touch Pro Weather problem

As noted in the TP Essentials thread, you have to use the custom version 1.1. That is the only one that will work for adding cities.

Yep.

I had the same issue until I installed that modified 1.1
