Verizon Touch Pro Randomly Wakes Up
I have a vzw touch pro (2nd refurb). I'm currently running Mighty Rom 6.5 (the one from a month back, not the final one.)
I'll hit the power button, put the phone to sleep. I'll put it in my pocket and next thing you know I'm setting off alarms, calling people, streaming pandora radio. Is there a G-sensor setting that allows it to wake. It will wake if I shake it hard or tap the screen hard. The weird part is I've even tried an app to Lock on wake. And it works if I wake it with the power button. But when it randomly wakes up, the device isn't locked. Maybe the stylus sensor is causing the wake up? Is there a disable for wake-on stylus? |
Re: Verizon Touch Pro Randomly Wakes Up
I had similar problems till I installed S2U2 (slide to unlock) which can be found at http://s2u2.ac-s2.com . This requires you to slide your finger across the screen to unlock the device instead of a tap.

Re: Verizon Touch Pro Randomly Wakes Up
Thanks for the possible workarounds, but why is it happening in the first place. It shouldn't be waking up in the first place.
There is no way that I am hitting the power button. So what is causing the initial wakeup? |
Re: Verizon Touch Pro Randomly Wakes Up
Thought I was crazy when the same thing was happening to me, and yes, it was the stylus sensor. Quick fix for me was to put a tiny piece of cellophane tape on the back of the stylus where it contacts the switch. Problem was solved instantly and I cut the tape carefully so you couldn't even tell it was there. My replacement TP (returned first due to an unrelated issue) does not have this issue.
