Question regarding android on TP after Hero...
 

So, once the Hero comes out, what are the chances that we can see a fully functional version of android on the Touch Pro?

I would think that it is possible to do with a lot of tweaking but im sure the combined minds of PPCgeeks and XDA could probably find something...

After all both phones are made by HTC with similar specs, and android is already running on our Touch Pros, so isn't all that's left to port over the radios and such?

Just curious, those of you with more insight can probably fill us in on how this might be impossible... lol

it all depends on if the hardware is similar enough for the drivers to run, as of now, the cdma drivers are just nonexistent for the radio and most of the hardware besides the screen. kinda sucks, but thats just how it is. i think that htc should release an android, and a wm rom, and give people the choice. that would be the optimal situation, but obviously, it just isn't.

You can bet there will be some strides forward... like the previous poster said, the biggest issue with android on the TP now is drivers. There arent any out there for the CDMA radio.

So i guess what you are saying is that when the hero is released we will see progress as we will now have drivers for a cdma radio?

Yes. Right now there aren't any out there.
