Sturggling to use/unlock GPS on new VZ touch pro, post 6/08/09

Ladies and gentelmen, the Google maps does not work on my phone. Bought 2 weeks ago. Tried using PPST2.01.cab from http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=49933 and it does not work. Checked the GPS settings they are set correctly. Tried using Verizon_HSPL_Package.zip from http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=68 and it does not work either. As soon as the phone goes into the security unlocked mode/screen ActiveSync does not see it.

p.s. already installed lllboredlll_VZW_GPS_Fix_v2.cab - but that did not unlock gps.

did you check to see if the location is on

Settings>personal>Phone>Service>Location

if it is only set to 911 then it will not work.
soft reset after turning location on.

you can also try to get quick GPS that might help.

the first start is always a little longer. make sure there are nothing obstructing the view of the sky.

once you installed boerds fix did you go into the windows folder and run the ppst file?

location is on, I also ran quick GPS.

yup, ran the ppst file

are you running the stock rom??? I know it has nothing to do with it. but from what I am reading. the custom ROMS gets the GPS down. I have tried mighty, SSK, and Demolition, and all of them work fine. although the first day that I got the phone is the day that I started flashing it.
