Taking in the touch pro for TEP (sprint)

I have had a few different ROMS on this phone, but it is malfunctioning right now (not related to flashing roms) and I have put a stock sprint rom on the phone, when I do to the dialer there is an icon of a padlock that is unlocked, what does this mean?

SHould I lock the phone back before taking it in for the total equiptment protection? Can they/will they detect that it is unlocked?

i don't know if they bother to look. i spoke with a sprint rep who said they only check for abuse of or tampering with the hardware. i still took the time to return to stock and relock the two times ive done a TEP replacement though.

i have to hard reset anyway to protect my data, so i figure whats the extra few minutes it takes me to relock?

as a former sprint employee i advise you put it back to stock (including relock). if sprint finds out you changed anything software wise, they will blame you for whatever damage thats been done.

protect yourself and dont ne open to "blame and liability".
