Camera shots auto-rotate problem?

I've had several roms that have had this problem, and I'm sure the fix is in the registry or in an xml file, I just can't find it. Hopefully someone has run in to this and knows exactly where to point me.

When I take a picture with the camera (and yes, I'm turning the device 90 degrees to the left following the camera animation that comes up when it's activated), and then open pictures and videos, or open HTC album in thumbnail view, none of the pictures I've taken with the camera are upright. They all have to be opened with pictures and videos, and then rotated 90 degrees to the left. I've attached a couple of photos to show what I mean. Now in the second screenshot, I did rotate the third picture manually.

Here's what I'm running:
SsS ROM Beta6 Win6.5 Build 23016
HTC Camera Version 6.4 Build 32007

Not all roms do this, and I'm not sure what causes it. I know in past roms that I've used that they come up correctly. I'm assuming it has to do with what version of HTC Camera is being used.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Camera shots auto-rotate problem?

I'm having the same problem with the newest EnergyRom. I thought it has something to do w/ the G-Config application that's being baked into the roms.

Re: Camera shots auto-rotate problem?

That may be the case. But it doesn't seem to matter if I disable the g-sensor in Gen.Y Manila. Anyone have a solution to this? Bump bump.

Mods, is there anywhere this can be moved for better exposure? I know lots of people have run in to this problem, somebody surely has a solution.

Re: Camera shots auto-rotate problem?

I eventually got tired of dealing with it and changed Roms. MightRom's never gave me this problem.

Re: Camera shots auto-rotate problem?

it has to do with which htc camera and sensorSDK versions you are using. the old versions (the ones that come on a stock touch pro rom) automatically rotates the picture based on your orientation (the camera app itself doesn't actually rotate). the newer versions (like those found on rhodium roms) do it a bit differently. the new sensorSDK will detect how you're holding the device and actually rotate the camera app itself. the picture that gets taken will already reflect this. the problem i see here is landscape mode is slower than portrait mode, so you can imagine trying to take a steady picture in landscape mode. i would assume that a lot of chefs want the best mode possible for picture taking, so the camera app is often taken off of the gsensor whitelist. you can either add the camera app back to the gsensor whitelist or slide the keyboard out (and look silly).
