Call answer/slider lag fix

I have searched around on ppcgeeks and did not find a thread dedicated to this, so i thought i would post it up for those who have the slider lag/call answer delay problem with their phone. This information and the cab file associated was found on ppcgeeks through a google search, I do not claim any credit for this.

There is a registry key in "HKLM/COMM/ConnMgr/Planner/Settings" called "SuspendResume" that SHOULD read #777. Some tweaks, especially some associated with diamond tweak, will for some reason cause this setting to change to GPRS instead of #777. The key cannot be edited simply by clicking on it and changing the value, i do not know why. Attached is a cab file that will revert this key back to #777. This cab worked flawlessly for me on silence 6.5, and should work on other roms as well. Completely cured the slow answer time and slider lag i was having.

BTW, I think that this is a great peice of information for people having this problem, and it should be added to the Essentials thread, or stickied for those having this problem, as its not easy to find otherwise.

Re: Call answer/slider lag fix

actually there is a thread dedicated to it, just my post and cab are buried a few pages in.

if anything this should be a general CDMA PPC sticky. althought I will likely have to modify my cab to be gsm friendly for tp2.

speaking of which could a telus user report thier default settings in that registry key?

ps. the Diamond tweak was mentioned, but Advanced Config has the same issue. I'm not sure why neither author will fix for cdma.

Re: Call answer/slider lag fix

It is in the TouchPro Essentials http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42730

there is not a cab, but it does show you also how to fix the issue.

"Issues with answering your phone when a data connection is open (answer buttons don't do anything)? Looks like a tweak messes up a registry key that affects this. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings], make sure SuspendResume is set to #777 (not anything containing GPRS). This issue seems to be related to Advanced Config. source"

Re: Call answer/slider lag fix

ah my mistake, i didnt see it when i browsed through. One question though while we are on the subject. How do you manually edit that entry. I couldnt do it using phm or tcmd. The entry IS editable, but editing it does nothing, the value stays the same, regardless of what you put in the entry field.

btw, shaggy, your cab is greatly appreciated, and i posted it here without your permission, so if its something you didnt want posted outside of the other thread, my apologies.

Re: Call answer/slider lag fix

no, it's cool, and you linked the attachment. that's good if I update, it'll still work.

i'm not sure what the issue is exactly with that reg, but I don't think I had issues using dotfred. I don't use tc, I prefer the fred/gsfinder combo

the default entry is for a multistring, allowing for different network connections. being cdma it's always #777 so I changed it to a basic string value.
it's still only a patch, as i'm not sure it will not play nice with cdma tp2 using gsm.

Still waiting for someone to post the default settings for a tp2
