micro sd card utility

I have a bunch of stuff on my card but have trouble reading it from my laptop media slot and even while using my desktop accessing as "storage device".

In the pasts I've been able to use my card without a prob on both computers to move stuff to and from.

Whenever I try to access from any of the computers now it says my card isn't formatted and if I'd like to format and I get an I/O error

I can still read contents from the phone itself but get an error when I try to delete a folder that the file (name of file) is a system file. If you remove it, your device or one of your programs may no longer work correctly." I hit yes then I get "cannot delete access denied, be certain that the file is not write-protected and is not currently in use"

Any suggestions?

Re: micro sd card utility

is it music/vid files? as far as in device, u didnt have anything open in media player do ya? thatll prevent deletion until wmp is closed out... if its images, make sure album or pics n vids is closed...

as far as your comp not allowing you to format, i have no ideas... maybe im an idiot, but ive never seen/ heard of I/O warning... and if your card has always worked, its not like the format couldve been changed... that wouldve wiped your card..

have u tried viewing through activesync?? or disk drive mode?? or are u just trying to view it through "mobile device" in My Computer

Re: micro sd card utility

Are you using a larger card in an older adapter or older slot? Some adapters and card readers can't read the newer SDHC (larger than 2gb) cards and will give you the error that its not formatted.

Re: micro sd card utility

there is always the possibility tht the card is fried out. If you take that thing out seconds eralier and the pc/laptop is still reading or writing that isht goes bad. However try all before considering a replacement.Pocket Mechanic is a good tool for SD among other things

Re: micro sd card utility

I tried all those repair programs and didn't work. I ended up formatting the card with windows and it seems to be ok so far.
