Re: Screen won't turn on
Ribbon to the screen broke, go swap it, it is a known issue. I wouldnt recomend a hard reset till you get them to back up your contacts.

Re: Screen won't turn on
sounds to me like the screen is broken, if you don't even see the boot screen with the red lettering at the bottom, I don't think there's much to do except ask for a replacement. (hard reset maybe, but if you don't even see the boot screen, how would you see the hard reset-screen?) try it anyway I guess: pull battery, reinsert battery, hold down volume down, center button and power button. also check to see if bootloader mode works? pull battery, reinsert, hold down volume down and power till you see the tricolor screen.. if you can see the tricolor screen there might be hope you could flash a new rom...

Re: Screen won't turn on
That confirms my suspicions. The LCD is completely dead, nothing on it at all at any point, no red letters during boot-up. Died all of a sudden, no dropping or anything.
I did get just a bit of water on it about 2 weeks ago, dried it out and it worked fine. I dropped it in water in its case so it wasn't fully soaked, for example no water got inside the battery compartment. Not sure if that had anything to do with the LCD dying, but I figure if it got any water in it, it would have surely dried out by now, plus why did it work for 2 weeks and suddenly stopped? |

Re: Screen won't turn on
Just to be clear, I did not have to reprogram anything - it was only the top part replacement, the settings remained the same.
I am glad in a way they did not have to replace the entire device. BTW, heard them saying to a few people that "we don't work on water-damaged phones, talk to your insurace" Not to me though. |
