GPS is seemeingly "Locked" with the latest Stock VZW ROM?

I got this phone a few days ago, and the GPS was working totally fine. google maps got me from point a to point b multiple times.

I flashed a few different ROM's from this site to see what I liked...

Basically, after the 5th ROM, the GPS in Google Maps stopped working.

I tried multiple builds, different ROM's, etc. Eventually I went back to the stock VZW 1.03 ROM, and then updated to the 1.08.605.4 ROM with the unlocked GPS.

now this is the exact same setup as it was when i got the phone...

Except now, Google Maps starts up, i select use GPS, and it says:
"Seeking GPS Satellites (xxxxxxxxx)"
The x's are a bunch of Random numbers. it never locks onto a satellite.

On top of that, now the HTC QuickGPS tool doesn't download any data. I click download, i wait, it goes to 100%, and then says "Connection Failed, Try Again"

What the hell do i do?

Not sure if this Rom has a GPS tool?
If so you would find it in one of the sub menus.
It should give you the option to scan for the GPS and open it. Think its Comm Port 4.

try the htc gps tool and see if you get any output from the driver. use com4 4800 baud, cold start, Q7500 chip.

Install PPST2.01 (search!) and once installed go to windows folder and run ppst...

Your GPS will be unlocked after the phone resets!

it was running some info but it also stated it could not lock onto a GPS satellite...

So my GPS chip is borked??? I've had this phone for three days damnit...

I'm calling VZW and telling them to send me a new one this is crap.

i called VZW tech support, and i could ahve sworn i checked this setting a thousand times...

The location settings were set to 911 ONLY... i swear i changed it to Location On, but that must have gotten changed in one of the ROM flashes I did...

Wow I'm an idiot.

Back to JD's 6.5 ROM tomorrow :0

yes i am. although i'm upset that all the generic WM6.5 ROM's are not working with it. I can't use the energyROM or MightyROM cause they drain the battery way too fast.

so i'm stuck with the stock ROM for now . I'll have to apply the SMS fix that should take care of alot of lag problems
