Annoying Opera Zoom issue when rotated

OK this is a very annoying problem. When using opera, If i rotate the phone, The screen on opera rotates as well. I really like that feature but the problem is when it does rotated it zooms out ridiculously far. The only way to zoom it back is to reload the page or "try" to click on a link. Even after i rotate the phone back to normal, Opera is still zoomed way out.. Is there a setting or something that I am missing.. Thank you in advance

Re: Annoying Opera Zoom issue when rotated

try a clockwise motion around the OK button, on the center button on the bottom half of the phone

i guess i should have mentioned this in my first post, but neither method works for me. the only thing(s) that work are reloading or clicking a link.

Re: Annoying Opera Zoom issue when rotated

I have this identical problem. Whatever it is that people think is so much better about Opera than IE, I will never know because I am relegated to using IE because of this zoom problems with Opera.

Undoubtedly, there is some registry tweak that 37.8% of the builds didn't have. Some sweat shop worker at the end of the assembly line forgot to put it in.

Did anyone find a solution to this yet?

I mentioned the problem to IndaGroove since I still have it on his latest ROM. (I have a Diamond, not the TouchPro, but the problem is the same as described here.) Anyway, he tried it and did not have it on his machine. It must be related to something I install, so maybe we can figure this out if nobody has yet?

BTW - for people not seeing this, it ONLY happens when you have "Mobile view" turned on in the display settings. When you're in this mode, the zoom function doesn't work. you can't do the circle around the DPAD thing, or tap on the screen to zoom it, etc.

If you've never tried Mobile view, you might want to check it out. It reformats web pages to fit the screen better. If you're reading news sites (e.g. www.zdnet.com), it's MUCH easier to do this in mobile view. Other than the rotate problem, I much prefer it this way.

(Hopefully this plug will get more people to try mobile view, and in the process, notice this problem and help us figure it out.)

If IndaGroove is right and it's something I've loaded, maybe it's something we all have loaded. Here's my list of removable programs. (There are other ones built-into the Groove ROM, but they can't be causing it because he doesn't have this problem. See his screen shots at http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=163)

PIE Plus might be a good suspect, but I didn't have it installed with my last ROM, and still had the opera problem. The other thing I've consistently installed is PhoneWeaver, but I just tried killing its two processes, and the problem didn't go away.

Anyway, any other ideas?

Do a hard reset, and then install apps one by one, while testing the opera bug between each one until you fine the culprit.
